Uniqueness of Kaolin Lake
From photography point of view, this place has a different meaning. Combination of white clay and blue lake water is a non ordinary scene and it becoming intereting place for photo hunting. Likes other place Open Pit, for you who had visited Kawah Putih in Patuha Mountain at South of Bandung, this place is almost the same. Combination with colorful costume of photo models can produce a nice picture from this place.

Honestly, initially we did not want to post these photos. But, due to so many request from our photographer friends who want to know more about potential art of photography in kaolin mining area, then we create this Kaolin Mining Lake gallery.

Clay (kaolin) is one of natural resources from under ground of Belitung island. This mining have created many job opportunities for people of Belitung. All of kaolin mine products are shipped to outside Belitung for row materials of paint and cosmetics factory. But, the negative impacts from this mining as you can see, is environment damage, same as tin mining activity. The damage is becoming worst since this mining also contaminate several big river in Belitung. This is of course contradictary with our campaign to protect the beauty of Belitung with yell : Belitung Superb Beach: Let's Keep It UnSpoiled !.
Access to Kaolin Lake
If you are interested to visit this place we can includes visiting this Kaolin Mining Lake as part of itinerary of your Fotografer Tour Program. The location of above photos taken by our Tour Organizer, Kusumah Kosasih is not far from Tanjungpandan. The photo session in this place can be combined with human interest photo session in traditional fish market at Tanjungpandan city.

ReplyHello ..... bryan Belitung Island is a neighbor of Bangka Island (Babel province = Bangka Belitung). I just came back from Bangka, Parai Beach Resort. July 9 - 9 last. the place is nice and fun. plans to go to belitung later this year. just look at the beach images nice. one of them wants to visit this kaolin lake. follow me? regards, fandy

Replynice, very nice picture ... seems to need a vacation there, a little share about the actual mining area that needs attention is the AMDAL and after the exploration, sometimes the company forgets when after completing the exploration with the AMDAL of the area ....
