This time we introduce Abu Hasan B Md Sudi, a retired Singaporean aged 60 who has a high passion for the world of photography. First learned about this beautiful island from a new friend in Ternate when he visited Maluku from June to July 2009. When he returned to Singapore, he searched through Yahoo and found BelitungIsland.COM which made him so impressed, a website with information complete. He has all the information needed and is determined to travel alone - just like any other trip where he always travels alone.

According to our observations, the special thing about the photos of Abu Hasan is color, because all photos are taken at sunset. Unfortunately, the weather seems less friendly but with the experience of taking angles and the combination of using wide lenses and telephoto, he can produce colorful images of the beauty of the granite rocky beaches in Belitung.

Abu Hasan spent a week, settling in Tanjungpandan, visiting places like Tanjung Tinggi, Tanjung Binga, Tanjung Kelayang, Tanjung Batu Air, Punai Beach, and Gembira Bay every day. The theme of the photo hunting is "Beachscapes with granite boulders" all the shots are taken in the afternoon to get a reddish cloud. According to him, this is not an easy job because there is no regular public transportation in Belitung to reach these areas, so he must use "ojek" every day. It was a tiring trip according to Abu Hasan, but all the fatigue paid off and he was very happy with the final results. Belitung beaches beat other beaches in Indonesia, undeniably this is the most amazing! and should still be left uncontrolled like it is today.

Abu Hasan used the Nikon D200 and D70s with lenses: Tamron SP10-24mm f3.5, Tokina ATX Pro 16-50mm f2.8 and Tokina ATX 80-200 f2.8. During the trip he was impressed with the picture of an old coffee shop near the hotel where he settled on the side of the Siburik river in Tanjungpandan. The picture reminds him of memories of the old days in the old city in Singapore know 1950 and 60, very nostalgic!
